![]() This is a little box that connects wirelessly to your phone, and plugs into your HDTV, giving your TV DLNA capability, and letting you watch and listen to your pictures, videos and music that are stored on your phone, on your HDTV. This is a site that I’m sure will become much more functional over the years, as it’s another feature that differentiates HTC’s Android phones from its competitors.įinally, I love what HTC have done with DLNA, and the HTC Media Link. Instant tagging on the mobile phone means you don’t have to faff aroudn editing pics after you’ve uploaded them.Įven more impressive is the web site, which lets you backup your messages and remotely control your phone. A simple click of the share button, and both the pic and the tags are uploaded to Facebook. Take a photo of your friends, for example, and tag them on the phone itself. Simple, but very very neat.Īnd its integration with the Web is completely seamless. What i love, aside from all the nifty features such as 720p video recording, the 8 megapixel camera (with “dool flash”!) and the new cacheing maps feature, is the beautiful look and feel of the user interface, and the incredible attention to detail that HTC has put into the whole thing.įor example, the little things such as the way the Desire HD actually knows if it’s in a bag, and so rings louder, or the way it instantly reduces the volume when you pick it up from a desk. It shows off the Desire HD perfectly, and I have to say, the Desire is looking exactly that – seriously desirable!ĭon’t take my word for it though – check out the video below and see for yourself. No wI know this is a promo demo from the manufacturer, and obviously it’s going to be biased, glossing over whatever niggles will undoubtedly be there, but you have to admit, this video is something else. But even that didn’t do the Desire HD justice.įortunately, HTC knew their new beast would require a larger than life demo, simply because it contains so much, so they created a 7 minute long video that explain everything in glorious detail. The new HTC Desire HD that was launched yesterday was already a sexy bit of kit, and the brief glimpse we got of it through a few snatched videos showed it to be right up there with the very best of the Android smartphones. The overall size of the phone has crossed some usability lines for sure.Posted by Mike Evans in HTC on September 17, 2010 On a more sober note, the enormous screen has its consequences. Just the sound of this is enough to frighten, impress, excite and entice. With a 4.3” screen, the Desire HD is one massive Snapdroid. ![]() The only thing we miss is a carrying pouch. The supplied headphones aren't your only option though, since the Desire HD has a 3.5mm audio jack.Īlso enclosed is an 8GB microSD card. There’s a one-piece headset with music controls (play/pause/skip) and a CD with HTC Sync. The HTC Desire HD goes beyond the massive screen and powerful hardware that we’ve already seen elsewhere.ĭesire HD unboxedThe retail box of the HTC Desire HD has pretty standard contents: a USB charger, standard microUSB data cable and the usual paperwork. It’s not as simple as saying HTC got themselves a brand new phone out of two older ones. It doesn’t even warrant a name of its own.
